STEVE TURNER INSURANCE SPECIALIST FLORIDA

Thonotosassa FL

Hi, I’m Steve Turner, and I’d like to be Your Insurance Agent and Broker serving residents of Thonotosassa FL.

For many years, I’ve been helping neighbors (like you), in Thonotosassa FL, find insurance plans that meet your individual, family, and business needs that are Affordable (Cheap). Which types of insurance can I assist you with?

  • Accident Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Disability Insurance
  • Group Health Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Medicare Insurance
  • Medicare Advantage Insurance
  • Medicare Supplement Insurance
  • Prescription Drug Insurance

Why choose Steve Turner Insurance Specialist?

Because I’m an “Insurance Specialist“. An “insurance specialist” is a broad term encompassing insurance agents and insurance brokers, but the key difference lies in who the agent represents versus who the broker represents.

An “insurance agent” works directly for an insurance company, selling their specific policies to clients.

An “insurance broker” acts as an independent intermediary, comparing policies from multiple companies to find the best fit for their client’s needs, essentially representing the client rather than the insurance company.

I am both a licensed Insurance Agent and a licensed Insurance Broker.

My number one goal in life is to help people and ensure, without a shadow of a doubt, that you and your family are secure and protected. I will always be by your side, helping you mitigate risk by providing the industry’s best and most affordable insurance solutions.

I will find insurance plans for the entire family to help cover whatever life throws at you. I can help you save on severe medical emergencies, find a health insurance plan with low-to-no-cost doctor visits and affordable prescription medication, and protect your family in the event of an unexpected accident or illness.

Best of all – it doesn’t cost you anything extra to use an experienced Insurance Agent and Broker like me to help you find the Insurance Plans that fit your individual, family, or business needs.

The companies that sell the insurance plans “you choose” pay me – you don’t pay me. Calling any big insurance company directly won’t result in your getting a lower price, as they will forward your call to the next available insurance agent on their list. You won’t have had any opportunity to learn about the insurance agent you’re speaking with in advance to understand their qualifications or experience level and make an informed choice about who you want to work with.

Scroll down to the Contact Me section below and get in touch with me by phone, email, or schedule a “No Obligation” chat through my calendar. I look forward to speaking with you!

Thonotosassa FL

Of course. Thonotosassa is one of Hillsborough County’s most historic and beautiful communities, a place whose identity is inextricably linked to its ancient Native American name and the magnificent lake that serves as its heart. I see Thonotosassa as a bastion of “Old Florida”—a large, semi-rural community that has held onto its country soul even as the Tampa metro area has grown around it.

The Land of Flint 🏞️

The story of Thonotosassa begins long before modern settlement. The name itself is one of the oldest in the region. “Thonotosassa” is derived from the Seminole or Creek (Muscogee) language, meaning “flint is here” or “land of flint.” This referred to the abundance of flint rock found in the area, a vital resource for Native Americans who used it to craft tools and weapons for centuries.

The area was the site of a significant battle during the Second Seminole War in the 1830s. Modern settlement began in the mid-19th century, with the community growing around the shores of the massive lake. For most of its history, it was a quiet, rural town whose economy was based on citrus, logging, and vegetable farming. While the railroad passed nearby, Thonotosassa’s identity was always more connected to its beautiful lake than to the steel tracks.

A Lakeside Community with a Country Soul 🌳

Today, Thonotosassa is a large, unincorporated community that offers a more relaxed, spacious lifestyle compared to its more densely populated neighbors. Its character is wonderfully diverse, both in its landscape and its people. You’ll find multi-million dollar estates on the shores of the lake, just a short drive from modest, mid-century homes, large mobile home communities, and sprawling horse properties.

The community lacks a traditional, centralized downtown; its identity is spread out along the roads that encircle the lake. It’s known for its stunning, moss-draped grand oak trees, its winding country roads, and a slower pace of life. The undisputed centerpiece is Lake Thonotosassa, the largest lake in all of Hillsborough County at over 800 acres. It’s a major recreational hub, drawing boaters, water skiers, and anglers from all over the region. Thonotosassa is, of course, an unincorporated Census-Designated Place (CDP) governed by Hillsborough County.

  • Stonemill Artisan Village: A unique and charming collection of rustic sheds and buildings housing local artists, craftspeople, and antique vendors. It’s a hidden gem that perfectly captures the creative, country spirit of the community.
  • The University of South Florida: While not located within the community, the massive USF campus is just a few miles to the west. Its presence is a major factor for Thonotosassa, providing employment and influencing the local housing market.
