Lake Magdalene FL

Hi, I’m Steve Turner, and I’d like to be Your Insurance Agent and Broker serving residents of Lake Magdalene FL.

For many years, I’ve been helping neighbors (like you), in Lake Magdalene FL, find insurance plans that meet your individual, family, and business needs that are Affordable (Cheap). Which types of insurance can I assist you with?

  • Accident Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Disability Insurance
  • Group Health Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Medicare Insurance
  • Medicare Advantage Insurance
  • Medicare Supplement Insurance
  • Prescription Drug Insurance

Why choose Steve Turner Insurance Specialist?

Because I’m an “Insurance Specialist“. An “insurance specialist” is a broad term encompassing insurance agents and insurance brokers, but the key difference lies in who the agent represents versus who the broker represents.

An “insurance agent” works directly for an insurance company, selling their specific policies to clients.

An “insurance broker” acts as an independent intermediary, comparing policies from multiple companies to find the best fit for their client’s needs, essentially representing the client rather than the insurance company.

I am both a licensed Insurance Agent and a licensed Insurance Broker.

My number one goal in life is to help people and ensure, without a shadow of a doubt, that you and your family are secure and protected. I will always be by your side, helping you mitigate risk by providing the industry’s best and most affordable insurance solutions.

I will find insurance plans for the entire family to help cover whatever life throws at you. I can help you save on severe medical emergencies, find a health insurance plan with low-to-no-cost doctor visits and affordable prescription medication, and protect your family in the event of an unexpected accident or illness.

Best of all – it doesn’t cost you anything extra to use an experienced Insurance Agent and Broker like me to help you find the Insurance Plans that fit your individual, family, or business needs.

The companies that sell the insurance plans “you choose” pay me – you don’t pay me. Calling any big insurance company directly won’t result in your getting a lower price, as they will forward your call to the next available insurance agent on their list. You won’t have had any opportunity to learn about the insurance agent you’re speaking with in advance to understand their qualifications or experience level and make an informed choice about who you want to work with.

Scroll down to the Contact Me section below and get in touch with me by phone, email, or schedule a “No Obligation” chat through my calendar. I look forward to speaking with you!

Lake Magdalene FL

Of course. Lake Magdalene is one of northern Hillsborough County’s most established and desirable legacy suburbs. From my location in nearby Citrus Park, I’ve always regarded Lake Magdalene as a mature, affluent community with a character defined by its stunning namesake lake and its beautiful, tree-lined neighborhoods that predate much of the area’s explosive modern development.

A Biblical Name on a Florida Shore 🌊

The story of Lake Magdalene begins in the late 19th century when the area was a remote, rural landscape of citrus groves and pine forests surrounding a large, beautiful body of water. The community, and the lake itself, have one of the most unique naming origins in the region.

In the 1880s, the influential Godwin family, who were devout Methodists and owned a large citrus operation on the lake’s shores, named the 256-acre lake in honor of the biblical figure Mary Magdalene. This religious naming convention was uncommon for natural features in Florida and has given the community a distinct and historic origin story that sets it apart from the developer-branded names of its modern neighbors.

For decades, the area remained a quiet collection of lakeside estates and small farms. Its major suburban boom occurred in the 1960s and 1970s, as Tampa’s population pushed northward. Along with its southern neighbor, Carrollwood, Lake Magdalene became one of the original upscale suburbs in what is now considered “North Tampa.”

A Mature and Desirable Suburb 🌳

Today, Lake Magdalene is a picture of mature suburban grace. It’s known for its incredible canopy of grand oak trees, which form tunnels over many of its residential streets. Unlike the newer, master-planned communities with uniform architecture, Lake Magdalene is a diverse tapestry of well-maintained mid-century ranch homes, traditional two-stories from the 70s and 80s, and spectacular modern estates built on the shores of the lake.

It feels less like a single “development” and more like a collection of established, distinct neighborhoods that have grown together over time. The community’s main commercial artery is North Dale Mabry Highway, which it shares with Carrollwood. Like the vast majority of its neighbors, it is an unincorporated Census-Designated Place (CDP), with all government services provided by Hillsborough County.
