Fuller Heights FL
Hi, I’m Steve Turner, and I’d like to be Your Insurance Agent and Broker serving residents of Fuller Heights FL.
For many years, I’ve been helping neighbors (like you), in Fuller Heights FL, find insurance plans that meet your individual, family, and business needs that are Affordable (Cheap). Which types of insurance can I assist you with?
Why choose Steve Turner Insurance Specialist?
Because I’m an “Insurance Specialist“. An “insurance specialist” is a broad term encompassing insurance agents and insurance brokers, but the key difference lies in who the agent represents versus who the broker represents.
An “insurance agent” works directly for an insurance company, selling their specific policies to clients.
An “insurance broker” acts as an independent intermediary, comparing policies from multiple companies to find the best fit for their client’s needs, essentially representing the client rather than the insurance company.
I am both a licensed Insurance Agent and a licensed Insurance Broker.
My number one goal in life is to help people and ensure, without a shadow of a doubt, that you and your family are secure and protected. I will always be by your side, helping you mitigate risk by providing the industry’s best and most affordable insurance solutions.
I will find insurance plans for the entire family to help cover whatever life throws at you. I can help you save on severe medical emergencies, find a health insurance plan with low-to-no-cost doctor visits and affordable prescription medication, and protect your family in the event of an unexpected accident or illness.
Best of all – it doesn’t cost you anything extra to use an experienced Insurance Agent and Broker like me to help you find the Insurance Plans that fit your individual, family, or business needs.
The companies that sell the insurance plans “you choose” pay me – you don’t pay me. Calling any big insurance company directly won’t result in your getting a lower price, as they will forward your call to the next available insurance agent on their list. You won’t have had any opportunity to learn about the insurance agent you’re speaking with in advance to understand their qualifications or experience level and make an informed choice about who you want to work with.
Scroll down to the Contact Me section below and get in touch with me by phone, email, or schedule a “No Obligation” chat through my calendar. I look forward to speaking with you!
Fuller Heights FL
Of course. Fuller Heights is a perfect example of the many small, unincorporated communities that form the residential fabric of Florida’s interior counties. From my location here in Hillsborough County, I see Polk County’s Fuller Heights as a quiet, working-class neighborhood that, while having its own official designation, is intrinsically linked to the history and economy of its much larger neighbor, the city of Lakeland.
Zip Codes: 33860
Latitude, Longitude: 27.9209° N, 82.0026° W
A Neighborhood on the Edge of Lakeland 🍊
The story of Fuller Heights isn’t one of a historic founding or a major development boom. Instead, it grew organically during the mid-20th century as a residential area for the working families who powered Polk County’s two great economic engines: citrus and phosphate. As the nearby city of Lakeland expanded after World War II, the demand for affordable housing pushed development into the surrounding rural lands.
The community’s name, Fuller Heights, most likely comes from a prominent local family or an early property developer named Fuller who first subdivided the land. This is a very common naming pattern for thousands of similar neighborhoods and census-designated places across Florida that don’t have a formal “founding” story. It developed simply as a place for people to live, close to the jobs in Lakeland and the surrounding agricultural areas.
A Quiet Residential Pocket 🏡
Today, Fuller Heights remains a quiet, primarily residential community. It is not a commercial hub; you won’t find a downtown district or major shopping centers within its boundaries. Its character is defined by a mix of modest, single-family homes, many dating back to the 1960s and ’70s, alongside a significant number of mobile homes.
It is an unincorporated Census-Designated Place (CDP), meaning it has no mayor or city council and receives all its government services, from law enforcement to road maintenance, directly from Polk County. For all practical purposes, its residents identify as being from the greater Lakeland area. Its location is key, nestled between Lakeland proper, the I-4 corridor, and other similar communities like Combee Settlement.

Nearby Attractions and Lakeland Landmarks ✈️
Because Fuller Heights is almost entirely residential, its lifestyle and entertainment options are found in the immediate surrounding area, particularly in Lakeland.

- Lakeland Linder International Airport: This major airport is a huge economic driver for the region. It’s home to the Amazon Air cargo hub, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s “Hurricane Hunters,” and the world-famous Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo every spring.
- Silver Moon Drive-In Theatre: One of Florida’s last remaining drive-in theaters. This historic and beloved institution, opened in 1948, is a nostalgic treasure and a popular entertainment spot for families from all over the area.
- Gator Creek Reserve: A beautiful 860-acre Polk County environmental park located just north of Fuller Heights. It offers miles of hiking trails through pine flatwoods and swamps, providing a peaceful, natural escape.
- Reececliff Family Diner: An iconic Lakeland institution since 1934. Known for its classic diner fare and famous pies, Reececliff represents the kind of long-standing local business that gives the greater Lakeland area its distinct, small-town character.
