Carrollwood FL – Health Medicare Long-Term Care Dental Insurance
Hi, I’m Steve Turner, and I’d like to be Your Insurance Agent and Broker.
For many years, I’ve been helping neighbors (like you), in title, find insurance plans that meet your individual, family, and business needs that are Affordable (Cheap). Which types of insurance can I assist you with?
Why choose Steve Turner Insurance Specialist?
Because I’m an “Insurance Specialist“. An “insurance specialist” is a broad term encompassing insurance agents and insurance brokers, but the key difference lies in who the agent represents versus who the broker represents.
An “insurance agent” works directly for an insurance company, selling their specific policies to clients.
An “insurance broker” acts as an independent intermediary, comparing policies from multiple companies to find the best fit for their client’s needs, essentially representing the client rather than the insurance company.
I am both a licensed Insurance Agent and a licensed Insurance Broker.
My number one goal in life is to help people and ensure, without a shadow of a doubt, that you and your family are secure and protected. I will always be by your side, helping you mitigate risk by providing the industry’s best and most affordable insurance solutions.
I will find insurance plans for the entire family to help cover whatever life throws at you. I can help you save on severe medical emergencies, find a health insurance plan with low-to-no-cost doctor visits and affordable prescription medication, and protect your family in the event of an unexpected accident or illness.
Best of all – it doesn’t cost you anything extra to use an experienced Insurance Agent and Broker like me to help you find the Insurance Plans that fit your individual, family, or business needs.
The companies that sell the insurance plans “you choose” pay me – you don’t pay me. Calling any big insurance company directly won’t result in your getting a lower price, as they will forward your call to the next available insurance agent on their list. You won’t have had any opportunity to learn about the insurance agent you’re speaking with in advance to understand their qualifications or experience level and make an informed choice about who you want to work with.
Scroll down to the Contact Me section below and get in touch with me by phone, email, or schedule a “No Obligation” chat through my calendar. I look forward to speaking with you!

Service Area – Carrollwood FL – Health Medicare Long-Term Care Dental Insurance
Carrollwood is an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is part of the larger census-designated place of Carrollwood, which also includes the neighborhood of Carrollwood Village. Wikipedia
Elevation: 39′
Carrollwood, is one of the most significant and influential suburban communities in the Tampa Bay area. It was one of Tampa’s first true master-planned suburbs, and its success set the template for much of the development that would later define northwest Hillsborough County.
The Birth of a Suburban Icon 🏡
Before the 1950s, the area we now know as Carrollwood was mostly pine forests, citrus groves, and cattle pastures, dotted with a few small lakes. The largest of these was Lake Carroll. The history of modern Carrollwood begins in 1959, when a visionary developer and state senator named Matt Jetton of Sunstate Builders purchased a large tract of land around the lake.
Jetton’s goal wasn’t just to build a subdivision; it was to create a complete, upscale community. This was a novel concept for Tampa at the time. He designed a neighborhood with winding, tree-lined streets, large lots, and custom-built homes, all centered on the recreational opportunities offered by the beautiful, spring-fed lake. The community was named for its primary geographical feature: the woods surrounding Lake Carroll.
This first phase, now often called “Original Carrollwood,” was an immediate success, attracting Tampa’s professionals and their families. This spurred further development, and through the 1970s and ’80s, the area expanded dramatically. Today, the name “Carrollwood” often refers to a broader region that includes the original development, the large CDP of Carrollwood, and the adjacent CDP of Northdale, all sharing a common identity and the busy commercial artery of North Dale Mabry Highway.
A Mature and Desirable Suburb 🌳
Modern Carrollwood is a prime example of a mature, affluent American suburb. It’s known for its lush, overarching canopy of oak trees, established neighborhoods, and a strong sense of community pride. Unlike the newer, sprawling suburbs further out, Carrollwood has a more settled, established feel.
It’s an unincorporated community, meaning it’s governed by Hillsborough County, but it has a robust civic identity. This is anchored by numerous community organizations and excellent amenities. The Carrollwood Cultural Center, for instance, provides a hub for arts, theater, and education that you would typically only find in an incorporated city. Its evolution from a pioneering outpost to a central, highly desirable residential area is a testament to its original design and enduring appeal.
